Lighthouse

Klamath, California          High 64 Low 48

Today is a little cooler and foggy.

We went to Crescent City and drove out to Battery Point Lighthouse and overlook.

The tide was still going out when we were there and we decided not to go all the way to the Lighthouse. We were there at about 11:00 and tours didn’t start until 2:00.  At high tide the Lighthouse is not accessible.

All the colored ground-cover looked nice from a distance. There were people in the area of the lighthouse, but we chose not to get our feet wet.

We did walk out on a pier for a ways to get better looks at the lighthouse.

The waves seemed a bit high today.
There was a whole field of these flowers.
We are here for two more night and will just kind of relax without doing much. Friday we plan on driving up 101 toward Oregon. This part of California is very beautiful.

Thanks for visiting.

  2. A seldom visited Redwood Forest is in Southern Oregon not far from the border with California. Just look up "Oregon Redwood Trail", I only walked a small part because it was not accessible for Marcia to do. Great place with very few people there. Can't go there pulling your 5th wheel though...

  4. Many people have been stuck on the island until the tide goes out. Yours truly waded the surf and got soaked! Sometimes the tide comes in pretty fast!!
