The Awful Four Letter Word

Riverton, Utah            High 51 Low 29

It's finally going to freeze. It is raining right now. We finally got that awful four letter word, SNOW. We probably got about an inch which fell late in the evening. By morning most of it was gone. We are going to get more rain, but the weather guessers are predicting more snow a week from tomorrow.

Sorry for the poor quality pictures, but most were taken at about 10:00 PM when I took Penny out for her last time before bed. Of course, she didn't want anything to do with the snow.

The last two were taken the next morning. The last picture I tried to show all the leaves still on the trees. I'm ready to go to Yuma, but we can't until the walnut leaves are mostly picked up. So far there have only been a hand full fall. I guess it needs to freeze some more first.

Cindy said I was all caught up with her on quilting, and then she finished another one. This one is king size.

My email changed format somehow and I'm having fits trying to download decent pictures. The people at the Verizon store weren't any help either. I'll keep trying. Cindy's son Chris came over and got the pictures downloaded. Happiness!

Customer Quilts

Riverton, Utah      High 74 Low 41

It is still a little warmer than usual but the weather guessers are predicting rain and colder temperatures this weekend with a chance of the dreaded white stuff in about a week.

I had two quilts to do for two different customers. The first one is for one of my customers that I have done a lot of quilts for. I liked this pattern, it is called hanging gardens.

She always has me do edge to edge, but I know if it were for Cindy, it would be done more custom.

The next one was for the lady that had me do the last three that I wasn't too impressed with her patterns, but this one turned out to be a lot nicer, and a lot larger.

In between quilting, I finally got the weather stripping on the two garage doors on our home.

I only thought I was caught up with Cindy. She finished another quilt and is almost finished with another. I will have them finished on my next post.

Thanks for visiting.

I'm Finally Caught Up With Cindy

Riverton, Utah              High 71 Low 47

The weather has been pleasant. It is still a little warm for the time of year, but at least there is no snow. Utah sure needs water though.

I have spent the last week finishing a Christmas quilt called Santa in the Pines. It was a kit that Cindy had to have last year. I talked about it in a post titled "She Promised she would be good, and then she wasn't. I have put a link in case anyone is interested. Here are pictures of the finished quilt.

The outer green border wasn't part of the kit, but Cindy wanted to add it to make the quilt a little larger.

Like the title says, I am finally caught up with Cindy. She has a lot of quilts started that she plans on working on when we get to Yuma.

She has been busy harvesting her garden. Tonight we had BLT sandwiches with fresh tomatoes from the garden. Neither of us think store bought tomatoes are near as good as the one you grow yourself.

One of my customers brought a quilt over today, so I don't get too use to resting.

Thanks for visiting.

Just Busy Quilting

Riverton, Utah       High 73 Low 43

We finally got to turn off our AC. The weather guessers say it is still a little higher temperatures than normal for this time of year.

I had  lady bring me three quilts to quilt. One I showed on the last post. I got the other 2 finished.

I hope she never reads this post, but none of the 3 would have been my favorite quilts. Maybe I'm prejudiced, but I like Cindy's a lot better.

Cindy tells me I'm an enabler. I found a yard sale Saturday morning that listed fabric as one of the things for sale. We got there early (we were first) and Cindy bought about 30 pounds of fabric pieces for $40.00. She blames me because if I hadn't looked at the yard sales, she wouldn't have been able to buy the fabric. Most of it was smaller pieces, but there were a few larger pieces.

Right now I'm working on the last quilt Cindy has ready. It is going to take me a while.

We both went to our annual Doctors appointments. They didn't find too much wrong. We both got our flue shots, the booster and regular flue shot. My arm was sore for a couple of days and I felt a little off the day following the shots, but I didn't have too bad of reaction. And of course the vampires got their samples of blood so they could test it. I went last Wednesday and Cindy today.
