Happy Thanksgiving

Yuma. Arizona    High 73 Low 48

The weather her has been nice, although a little chilly. At least the weather here is better than back in Utah, highs in the 40's, low in the lower 20's. Today is quite breezy and the dust lately has been bothering Cindy to the point she looses her voice. Then when a calm day comes along, she is alright.

We both have been working hard to clean up our yard since we have been here and finally seem to be getting most of it done.

Yes, I have been going to shuffleboard three times a week.

I also have gone to the small dog park with Penny some afternoons. Some of the time we ride over with our neighbor with some of Penny's friends. I have quite a handful.

Today we are having some of our friends come over for Thanksgiving dinner. Each couple is preparing something different. I'm sure it will be good and will be lots  to eat.

Cindy likes to get her best china out and decorates a fancy table.

I hope every one of you has a nice Thanksgiving.

Thanks for visiting.

Finally Got To Yuma

Yuma, Arizona          High 71 Low 42

We left Riverton Friday morning. We drive the 700 miles to Yuma in one day, but it is seeming like a longer and longer day. It takes about 12 hours with stops. This time it seemed to wear both of us out. Maybe it's that thing called age that makes it feel so long.

When we left it was 19 degrees outside and the car said it was 17 when we went over some of the summits along I15.

Saturday we went to some yard sales with some friends from the Park, and wouldn't you know, at one of the yard sales Cindy found some fabric, actually quite a lot. Not only that, the lady told her that she was probably going to sell her stash in the near future and took down our phone number so she could call Cindy when she does. Cindy was in heaven.

Since then we have been working on our yard, getting the weeds and all the leaves picked up, along with a lot of trimming trees and bushes. We are still not finished, but we have made a lot of progress.

Tomorrow morning I am going to play shuffleboard.

Sorry, no pictures today.

Thanks for visiting.

One More Quilt And Finally Got Cold

Riverton, Utah       High 47 Low 34

Two night ago it got down to 20 degrees F. It finally was enough to have the walnut tree loose it's leaves. Prior to now we might have got enough to fill a five gallon bucket. With the cold, we filled two garbage cans (about 55 gallons) plus two more 55 gallon plastic bags with more falling every time the wind blows, until the tree is finally bare. I can't help but wonder why the rest of the trees haven't started to loose their leaves, but the walnut leaves are the ones that do damage to the grass.

We will probably pay our grandson, Devin, to rake the rest if they don't fall before we leave for Yuma, which I am looking forward to. I don't like the cold anymore, but I'm sure I've mentioned it before.

It is supposed to be wet or snow until next Friday, so we are planning to head south on Friday.

In the meanwhile Cindy finished another quilt. She likes to keep me busy.

Right now she is working on the same pattern in different colors, still lots of pieces, Nancy.

Thanks for visiting.

Haloween

Riverton, Utah           High 63 Low 46

It is quite warm for the time of year. It is supposed to get really windy this afternoon with more of the awful four letter word tomorrow, they are predicting maybe 3 inches of snow. Why are we still here and not in Yuma?

A few of the neighbors really get into Halloween. One has won first in several Halloween contests. We went to see some of them and got some pictures of them all lit up.

The last one has a square box you look into the top and it looks like it goes down forever. It is done with mirrors and is pretty neat.

Penny got her hair cut in preparation to go to Yuma and has been freezing. Hopefully we get the leaves falling so we can go.

Thanks for visiting.
