Sisters For The Quilt Show

Sisters, Oregon             High 94 Low 59

While it is hot during the day it still cools off enough at night to make a comfortable time sleeping.

This morning we went into La Pine to do a little shopping before we left the RV Park. On our way back we noticed a car that was pretty smashed up. It wasn’t there on our way to La Pine. The drivers fender was smashed with the windshield cave in from the outside. There was broken glass all over the highway. When I got past it and looked in my mirror, I could see a dead deer beside the car, so I guess the car hit the deer. I hope no one was hurt.

We got ready to leave and left just before the 11:00 check-out time. We left so late because we only had a 45 minute drive to Sisters, where we are staying at the Sisters Creekside RV Park. It is a City run Park which is a fairly nice Park. We are boondocking for three nights. The only downside is that it is so hot that we will need to run our generator. We do have lots of shade from the afternoon sun.

In the background you can see some of the traffic going through Sisters. The Highway was very busy today.

The outdoor quilt show is tomorrow but we were told that a lot of the businesses had quilts hanging, so we went off walking to see. We did find a lot of quilts hanging up in the various shops.

The carvings were  hanging in the local Real Estate Office.

We walked to the very large quilt shop in Sisters and Cindy found two patterns she liked enough to buy. The quilt shop people told us that the outdoor quilt wouldn’t be hung until about 6:00 tomorrow morning and are only hanging till 4:30 tomorrow afternoon.

These two are the ones Cindy got the Patterns for.

The following pictures were taken on our way back to the fiver after leaving the Quilt store.

I haven't seen this style of quilting before, but I like it.

When we got back I checked to see how far we had walked and found that we had walked 3.5 miles. We only went down one road of the two that will have quilts tomorrow, so if we see it all we will have to walk 7 miles. I hope we are up to it. There were a lot of people out today and tomorrow they close the two roads, one of which is the main highway through here. A lot of people are expected tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting

  1. It looks like you’re having fun. You didn’t mention cable for your camera. It’s hot in Sandpoint too. It’s hard keeping the plants alive, still no landscapers. I really hope to see you August 11th for Noah’s wedding. Please come. Love, your daughter Sabrina in Sandpoint.

  2. It's probably a good thing I don't go there. I'd be broke. I've seen lots of that very tiny close together quilting lately. It seems they quilt every space in between the regular quilting. I like it too!
