Circleville, Ohio High
82 Low 63
Big surprise! It rained again last night for most of the
night. We woke up to lots of morning mist but the later the day turned warm and
sunny.
We went to check out some quilt stores in Celina, Ohio. In
the town there are lots of old buildings. Cindy got pictures of some of them.
This was the oldest building we saw in Celina.
Today when we got to Circleville we started seeing more old buildings.
Some are built very elaborately. There are several churches that say they have
been there for at least 100 years.
This is the county Court House.
We saw this mural on a building downtown. It looked almost 3 dimensional.
We also saw a marker that told of the Underground Railroad.
It told of 2 houses from the Underground Railroad that are still in existence
today. The Moore House has a 1820 date on it.

This wasn’t dated but looked to be from the same era.
There was an Inn called the Castle Inn that looked like a castle. It was an 1895 mansion Now known as Castle Inn, this building was the first mansion residence of the Samuel T. Ruggles family. It was built in the late 1800's and was inspired by several European castles. It has many stained glass windows, including a beautiful piece at the end of the stairway. One of the rooms in the tower has a bathroom paneled in rose marble, ornate walnut and has marble furnishings. It has been converted into a Bed and
Breakfast. It is said to be haunted.
Thanks for visiting.
