Quilts And Quilt Shows

It is still nice weather.

The first of two quilts Were made with the same pattern. The first one we made with a kit and then The second  with scrappy material using a different panel. They sure look different.

The next one is one we used some scrappy pieces that came from somewhere.

Then we had two different quilts shows at two of the close by Parks. They were a day apart. Neither are what we would call large shows, but they did have some very nice quilts.

These two show how much difference the colors of material make the same pattern look.

We had never seen a quilted chair cover before.

We enjoyed both quilt shows.

Birthday And Visitors

It has got warm here for the last few days. It feels nice to me.

My daughter, Sabrina. and her husband, Doug, came to stay for a few days. Sabrina wanted to be here for my birthday last Tuesday. I'm not going to tell you how old I am, but I celebrated the 42nd anniversary of my 40th birthday (if I need to do the math for you, that makes me 82 years old). LOL Again, I neglected to take any pictures.

Tuesday we took them to Mexico so they could see what the town was like. Cindy has wanted to get a Mexican sun for the side of our house and Doug got to carry it to our car through customs. It really wasn't too heavy.

Sabrina and Doug had a friend in Phoenix they were going to visit before they flew out on Wednesday. We had a good visit with they while they were here.

Tuesday was my birthday and we went to DaBoyz for dinner with some of our friends from the Park. We got the Marilyn Room this time, which is our favorite room at the restaurant. This time, I order pizza, which I like a lot better than their pasta. 

We have had a busy week.

Car Show

It finally got warm with no wind. 

Our Park hosted the annual car show. There were lots of cars, some of which had been here before and some new to the show. I didn't get many pictures.

This motor cycle looked just like a 57 Chev, along with the trailer.

I should have got more pictures, but was too busy looking at the cars to take pictures.

The photographer was there taking pictures. He also took some of the dogs and got the following picture of Penny.

Penny, your tongue sure looks big!

My daughter and son-in-law came to stay for a few days with us, Again, sorry, but I forgot to get any pictures. This morning we went to Algodones for some of  Cindy's meds and to look at a Mexican wall decoration. We weren't there very long.

The Rest Of The Barbeque

It seems to be a lot cooler than normal and we got heavy rain on Tuesday and light rain on Thursday. 

I got some pictures of one of the sunrises before the rain came.

We went to the Saturday night Pitsmasters Barbeque. There was lots of meat and they had a better turn-out than I expected. I talked to the Chef and he said there were about two hundred people there. He said he had hoped for a bigger crowd, but as it was the first year, he hopes it improves next year. The band was very good. I didn't get their name.

The MC carried around the alligator head and Cindy pretended to kiss it. We got to try the barbecued alligator, and to us it tasted like very dry (overcooked?) chicken.

I'm really glad we didn't have to pay the $125.00, like a lot of people did, to go to the night time dinner.

While most of it was good, it didn't seem like that good (to pay that much).
