She Promised She Would Be Good, And Then She Wasn't

Riverton, Utah          High 54 low 37

It has rained a lot here for the last two days and feels really chilly outside.

We needed to deliver some quilts to four of our great grand-kids, two in Spanish Fork and two west of Orem. Cindy wanted to go look at some of the quilt stores near there that we haven't been to for a while. She said she only wanted to look and not buy anything......Can you see where this is going?

The first two stores everything went as promised with us just looking. But in the third store she found a quilt hanging on the wall that she liked. She really liked the quilting and----it was a kit with a pattern.

So if you haven't guessed by now, the kit and pattern somehow came home with us. Now I have to find out where to get the border pattern or make it up on my machine. I can make it, but I would rather find a designer that already has it made and buy it. The rest of the quilt will take some time to quilt, but I can do the designs without any problem.

I have also been quilting, one for Cindy and one for my new customer. She has 2 grand-babies due and wanted me to quilt them before we leave for Yuma. The first one was on my last post. This one is a little larger.

The one I did for Cindy is a large (king size) quilt with lots of pieces. By my math, there are 5,746 pieces in this quilt. Luckily she let me do an over-all. She gives me a hard time when I can quilt it in a lot less time than it took her to piece it.

We also went to an estate sale and we really hit the jackpot. We got a whole car load of good stuff for a grand total of $22.00. Included were 15 DVDs, batting packages for 2 twin size quilts, and Cindy even found an Anita Goodesign pattern. I looked up the price on the embroidery disc and it alone would cost $35.00. There are lots of basket type containers.

I found the exact white fleece blanket for $34.99 at Amazon.

It's a good thing we don't find that good of yard sale all the time.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Okay, WAY too many pieces for me in one quilt. Sure is beautiful though. Yard sales around here only have old dirty clothes. LOL
