Christmas Eve Brunch

Riverton, Utah         High 33 Low 17

It is another chilly day.

Cindy's Christmas cactus' are in bloom. She said it was the first time to see them for a few years.

We had most of the family over for Christmas Eve brunch. There  was way too much food for everyone, so lots of left overs.

After we ate the three great grandkids made paper wreaths, One of them was sick and didn't come because his dad said he didn't want anyone to get what he had.

After they were finished, we had a treasure hunt with the different families making up a team. The object was to find all the clues, some of which were fairly hard and finally get the prizes. Before we did the hunt, I read the Night Before Christmas to the Kids, while Cindy got the clues situated. We had already put the clues into little envelopes so she could get them ready easier. I have a cartoon glass collection in one of our cabinets and the clue said "I thought I Taw A Puddy Tat" Which was Tweety Bird. The had to figure out where Tweety Bird was and find the clue, which wasn't hidden.

The kids didn't want to pose for a picture. After I read the story, we got some family photos.

Then it was total pandemonium while they tried to figure out the clues and locations. Some of the clues were a lot harder than the Tweety Bird one. We think they all had a good time and Cindy, especially was glad to get most of her family together for Christmas. Most of the adults said they liked the treasure hunt.

Lastly, Cindy had rice pudding. Her long time tradition was to put a nut in one of the puddings, and whoever got the nut got to open a Christmas present. This time, she put a nut in each of the kids pudding, and they got a small present. They liked getting the present, the rice pudding, not so much. The oldest of the three is only 5, so not too big a surprise.

Thanks for visiting.
