We Tried A New Restaurant

The weather has mostly been nice. We did get one day that it was a little too warm and another day with lot of wind, but most days have been pleasant.

We went to a restaurant at West Winds Resort. We had heard good things about it and we weren't disappointed. The food was good with plenty to eat. We went with my brother and sister-in-law.

Later in the week, Cindy made a loaf of sourdough bread. It turned out very well and is delicious.

 Wednesday I broke a front tooth. It was bad enough that I felt like I needed to go to the dentist. We have been seeing a dentist in Mexico by San Luis that we found thanks to Sandie Dixon. We both like him and he is never too busy to see us. I had another front tooth that he had tried to fill a while ago. The filling did not hold, so he thought the best thing to do would be to put in a four tooth bridge, as there wasn't enough tooth left to hold a cap on the two outside teeth. I went back on Friday and got the bridge put in and I think my front lower teeth haven't ever looked as good. I am well pleased with the final result. Just as a side note, Thursday when I went through Customs to get back into the USA, there was not line. Friday there were probably fifty people in front of me, so it took a little longer to get through Customs. I asked one of the border agents about it, and he said they were always busier on week ends. The agent helping me asked the normal question about what I was bring in from Mexico, and I told her only some new teeth and she smiled at my answer.

Lost Another One

The weather has been really nice, although a bit warm in the late afternoon.

I played in another  Shuffleboard tournament that lasted only one day for me. I played the first game of the day and though it was close, I lost that one. Then I was in the Consolation and played the third game of the day. I played against a little old lady that played like she had been playing all her life. At the last frame of the game, she was 42 points ahead of me. Most players at this time will start to throw their discs away because there is no way you are caching up, but not her. I made a 10 on my last shot, which she promptly knocked out, as if to show me who was boss. And so, I was out of the tournament.

Later in the week, my brother and his friends came back to Yuma. We went out to a place called Izzy's. Cindy and I shared a fish and fries order, which was still too much to eat, but it was good.

Other than going to the dog park most afternoons, there has not been a lot going on with us. We have been hanging out enjoying the nice weather.

Shuffleboard Tournament

It finally got warm here, maybe a little too warm.

Before I talk about the tournament, my brother noticed a wall mural at the Yuma City Offices.

 it was about a children's book called Roxaboxen. It also told where Roxaboxen Park was located in Yuma, so we had to go see it. 

And imagine my surprise, when a few days later, when a package from Amazon showed up that I had not ordered. 

Glade had ordered me the book.

Last Monday the Shuffleboard pin tournament started. There were 128 Entrants. 

It took three game to have everyone play their first game. I lost my first one, and was then in the consolation. I won three, before losing my forth consolation game. so no prize. The tournament lasted four days. 

I guess I didn't have enough abuse, so I entered the tournament starting tomorrow at the Park across the street from us.

Penny and I have been going to the Small Dog Park most afternoons. About fifteen people and small dogs show up each day. Penny sure likes to go see all her friends.

  Cindy has been trying to find out how to make sourdough bread. One of her friends here in the Park has been helping her. She made her first loaf last week. It turned out really good.
