One More Birthday and Cindy's Garden

Riverton, Utah        High 90 Low 63

The weather got hot again, after a week of cooler than normal temperatures.

Our oldest grand-daughter had a birthday. Teesa is the one with two kids that came over to swim. It just reminds us how old we are getting.

We got a lot of cherries before the birds finished them off. Our weren't quite as ripe as they could have been, but it was a race with the birds to see who got them first.

Our apricot tree doesn't have near as many apricots as usual, because of so much cold weather in April, but the ones we do have are way larger than usual.

The quarter is to show somewhat the size of the fruit.

The rest of Cindy's garden is growing like mad. The tomato plant are huge, but very few tomatoes so far. We do have lots of cherry tomatoes, but no ripe ones so far. The zucchini plants are very large and we have had some zucchinis.

The picture above is the apple tree, which has lots of apples. the picture below is one of a few of the tomatoes.

This zucchini is almost big enough to eat.

Lots of cherry tomatoes.

The plants seem to like the grow boxes, Cindy likes them also because there is a lot less weeding in the boxes.

And here are the latest quilt I finished.

I'm working on a quilt that Cindy wanted really fancy and I told her it would take a while.

And finally, Penny thinks she has to be by someone all the time. Whenever I sit down she is right by my side.

It's good to have a little buddy.

Kids Come Over to Swim and Lots More Quilts

Riverton, Utah         High 94 Low 69

Summer has got here with a vengeance. Tomorrow is supposed to get up to 98 degrees accordioning to the weather guessers. And we have had, maybe, 12 drops of rain for June so far, with none in the forecast.

We had our grand-daughter come over with her two boys to swim. The young boys wore life jackets and seemed to have a good time.

I joined them and we spent a little over an hour in the water.

We have raspberries in the garden and we have to put up UV net so they don't get too much sun. Cindy got pictures of me starting on the PVC frame for the net.

From the picture, you can see some of the plants in the planter boxes. The tomato plants are getting big, but so far no tomatoes. (We do have some green starts, but no red ones yet.)

And we have both been busy making quilts and quilting them.

Today we went to the last day of an estate sale. Cindy found lots of treasures, most of which were supposed to be $1.00 each, but when we went to check out, the lady didn't want to count everything, so she sold us everything for $20.00. This included 6 large container boxes and two small one. After we got home we found one Christmas wreath with a price tag on it for $19.99, so we really got a bargain.

There are 18 red plates. Each of the large containers sell for almost 9 dollars.

Thanks for visiting.
