Labor Day and Fruit

Riverton, Utah           High 89 Low 61

It is still warm and the weather guessers are predicting cooler weather by next week end.

Here it is Labor Day week-end already. I hope everyone has a good Holiday.

We have been busy bottling apples and freezing tomatoes. The apples are a lot of work, with the peeling, slicing and cooking. We have had lots of apples fall in the winds, but we still got a lot of nice apples.

We still have a lot more apples to bottle.

Just so you don't forget, I finally finished a quilt I have been working on for the last 3 weeks. With the wedding and fruit, I hadn't spent a lot of time on it. It still took a log time to quilt with all the different patterns in it, along with some color changes.

The Wedding

Riverton, Utah                High 75 Low 61

More rain predicted today.

As promised, here are the pictures of the actual wedding ceremony.

They got started at about 6:30. Like I said before, they have been together for 8 years, and I hope they have a long and happy marriage

After the Ceremony, There was enough food for a small army, and with eating and visiting, the party didn't get over until about 9:30. After that the cleaning up took until almost 11:00 and Cindy and I finally got to bed about mid night. We were both exhausted the next day.

Little Penny spent the day on a leash or my lap or in her carry bag. I didn't dare let her go alone because of all the kids running around. We usually go for a walk about 7:00 PM, but when I tried to take her for the walk, she didn't want to leave all the people and refused to go anywhere.

Getting Ready For The Wedding

Riverton, Utah              High 78 Low 65

The weather turned cooler and the weather guessers are predicting rain. We had a large rain storm yesterday.

We had the wedding here Saturday and started to get ready for it Friday. They invited about 100 people, but not all showed up but there was still quite a crowd.

Cindy and I had tried to clean the yard for the week prior to the wedding and the only thing we had no control over was the wind, which we only had for a little time on Saturday. Other than that , the weather was great.

Stephanie , Cindy's daughter, spent Friday and all day Saturday cooking for the wedding. Teesa (the bride and Cindy's grand-daughter) Spent the night here Friday, along with her two boys. Teesa and Rory have been together for 8 years, so I guess it's about time they got married.

We have lots of pictures, so I decided to divide them into two post, so this one will be more of the preparations.

Above is Stephanie frosting the Cake.

And of course I got to lick the beaters.

Tomorrow I will put the pictures of the ceremony on a post.

Thanks for visiting.

Car Show And Grapes

Riverton, Utah     High 92 Low 72

It was a little cooler today, but the weather guessers are saying it will warm up again just in time for our grand-daughters wedding.

We went to a car show put on by the local Chevrolet. Guess what most of the cars were...... If you guessed Chevrolets, you were right. There were a few different kinds, but by far most were Chevs.

While we were there, Cindy saw a car she thought she might like. That is until she saw 14 miles per gallon, and the $140,000 + price tag.

It was fun to see all the old and new cars.

We have spent the last few day bottling grape juice. my fence around the grapes kept the birds away and we got about 15 gallons of grapes. We have steamers that get grape juice from them and got about 28 quarts of grape juice. It is a lot of work, picking and bottling. There are still quite a few grapes, that are hard to pick, so I'll take the net off and let the birds get the rest.
