Nice Weather

Yuma, Arizona         High 75 Low 51

The weather here has been really nice lately. Mid 70's during the day and in the 50's at night. It actually feels cool when the sun goes down.

I have been taking Penny to Yappy Hour at the small dog park most days. One day she chased a toy so much, she was tired the next day.

We finally got our yard cleaned up. Now if we could get a little rain, everyone would be happy. It has been quite a while since Yuma has had any rain. When it gets windy, we get a lot of dust in the air.

I have also been playing shuffleboard three times per week.

We finally went to the taco place on the south frontage road and got shrimp tacos. They are really good and I'm sure we will be going back.

The place is pretty plain, but the tacos sure are good.

And Cindy has been busy quilting as usual. She has finish three quilts, ready for quilting, and we have only been here three weeks.

I am sorry to hear about Kelly, from The Bayfield Bunch with her health problems and are hoping her the best.

Thanks for visiting.

We Made It

Yuma, Arizona      High 81 Low 46

We finally made it to Yuma. It has been very pleasant during the day and cools off a lot as soon as the sun goes down. Today is supposed to be even warmer.

We have spent the last week working hard to get things in order and we had a remodel project. When we got here, our whole lot looked like this:

We also had a dead Palm Tree, which has been dead for two years. I cut it down and asked landscaping to haul it away which I found out is a big NO, NO. I was supposed to ask the architectural committee for permission to cut it down, and then it had to be cut into 50 pound pieces and hauled to the front of out lot for them to haul it away. The major problem I have with this is: Why do I need permission to cut down a dead tree from our own lot? It's not like we rent, we OWN. Oh, well, enough ranting.

We got our grand daughter, Teesa's Nightmare Before Christmas quilt finished before we left and delivered it to her. Cindy designed it from a pattern she already had.

We tried to used every piece of the material and used most of it in the back. She was surprised that we got it finished so quick, she hadn't expected it until we got back in the spring.

Cindy also had me do another quilt using the same patterns as the quilt before the one for Teesa.

On the way here we took a picture of the gas prices in Needles, California. I'm always amazed at why anyone would pay that price for fuel, when three miles across the river in Arizona Gas is so  much less, regular is 2.89 per gallon.

 Over $2.00 per gallon cheaper.

Friday evening, we were invited to a welcome back party at our neighbors. I think they said they had 15 people.

Then last night we were invited to a surprise birthday party for our neighbor, Carla. It looked like about half the park were there, along with her daughter from Washington, that she hadn't seen for four years. I have no idea how they kept it a surprise with as many people that went, but she acted extremely surprised when she came to her daughters place with her son-in-law.

Her actual Birthday was a month ago, and she told her daughter that it was a nice birthday, but she sure wished her Palms family could have been there. Last night she got her wish. It was a Happy 80th Birthday for a really nice neighbor.

Thanks for visiting.
