Beach and Quilt Stores October 30, 2013

Lincoln City, Oregon High 57 Low 39

When we woke up this morning, there wasn't frosty like yesterday. It was a sunny morning, but turned into mostly cloudy this afternoon. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, but we will be leaving for Florence tomorrow. It is about 60 or 70 miles south.

We went into town to take care of some banking business. We stopped at a Christmas Store on our way back. Cindy got some pictures of the shop and inside also.

We stopped at the beach where D River empties into the ocean. The sign over the river says it is the world shortest river. There were a lot of seagulls on the beach, and also a lot of little funny birds. I don’t know what kind they are, but they would run to where the water had just gone out and it looked like they were eating something. Then they would outrun the next wave, then turn around and go back to eating whatever they were after. They kept on doing this, and it was comical seeing them try to outrun the waves, sometimes running in formation.

Lots of Sea Gulls.

I decided to put the Quilt Shop pictures on the post today. The one in Newport was a really nice store with lots of sample of quilts and blocks hanging on the walls. This store is the one with the heart quilt from a few days ago.

Lots of beautiful quilts and blocks.

The store in Waldport wasn't anything special.

The store in Toledo was another really nice store. Cindy and I both liked the Santa Claus quilt and asked if she had any of the fabric, but she said it was something she didn't have anymore. They had a nice tea room right in the store. She also had a lot of old Quilt magazines that were free. Cindy took a few to look at.

This picture turned into the starfish.
Somebody is very talented.
All three ladies were really nice, but the first and third stores were by far the best stores.

Thanks for visiting.
