Lakeside, Oregon High 55 Low 48
It rained all night again. It was dizzily pretty much all
day.
This is the Park we are stay in.

We wanted to try fish and chips on the coast, and I asked
the receptionist if she knew a good place to get them. She told us that the little
cafe in Lakeside had good food for a reasonable price. We had seen their home of the $5.00 dollar dinner on the way to the RV Park, and with her recommendation we went there. It looked busy, so we
decided to try it. It was every bit as good as she said it was. Their prices
looked very good on the rest of the food they served. If you are ever in the
area, it is well worth a stop. It is located on 8
th street and Lake
Road in Laketown. It is a little off highway 101. I don’t know where else you
could buy a biscuits and gravy breakfast for $1.99, but we might try it
tomorrow. The fish and chips cost $6.99 and there was enough food that neither of us felt like having dinner tonight. We had thought about driving to Coos Bay or Reedsport, but this was only 1/2 mile away from us. They actually have $3.99 and $4.99 menu items.

This was a lot of good food. |
After lunch we went to the Umpqua River Lighthouse. Unfortunately
the museum and light house were closed for tours today, so we didn't get to go
in. The information sign, which I have included, say that the light can be seen
for 19 miles. It was originally built in 1857, and was destroyed by flooding in
1861 and rebuilt and illuminated by 1894.
The ocean that we could see looked quite rough today. The
picture I put on is the waves going up the river. The picture is fuzzy because of the rain and fog.
Thanks for visiting.
You can never visit to many lighthouses:)
