Florence, Oregon High 52 Low 45
It rained quite a bit of the night again. Today was partly
cloudy in the morning and more rain this afternoon. Our daughter called this
morning and said it was snowing in Salt Lake. Rain is better than snow anytime.
Last night we had to turn all the clocks back for the end of
Day Light Savings time. The bad thing is that it takes me a while to get used
to the clock changes. And yes, it reminds me of the old joke: You cut one end
of the blanket off and sew it onto the other end to make the blanket longer. (Somehow it doesn't work.)
We plan on moving a little further down the coast tomorrow
(about 30 miles). We are really burning up the highway going south. LOL Our
plan right now is to stay in Lakeside for 3 days and then move over to the
Escapee Park in Sutherlin for almost a week. Nothing is set in stone, however.
We plan on getting home sometime around the 15th of the month, but that
is still subject to change, depending on the weather.
Tonight I have included some pictures of some of the Oregon
Lighthouses we have seen on this trip. We missed some of them in the north part
of the state. The first picture is of the lighthouse north of Newport. The
second is on the south end of Newport. As you can see from the picture, it was
built into the living quarters and sit on a small hill. The third one is about
halfway between Newport and Florence. It is a ways away from any town, and we
couldn't drive up to it like the other two.
To the right is the fire look-out tower. |
Thanks for visiting.
We loved exploring the lighthouses along the Oregon coast. Glad to hear you aren't over doing the miles driven.
ReplyDeleteReally no sense in over doing the driving. LOL
