Moved to Salome, Arizona

Desert Vista KOA Salome, Arizona High 59 Low 45

I had to go to Walmart for one of Cindy's meds this morning. They didn't have it in Algodones.

We got away from the Yuma Lakes  RV Park at about 11:00 and headed north towards Quartzsite. At about milepost 76 there is  a Border Patrol checkpoint, and we were required to stop. He asked a few questions and we were on our way.

We got on I10 in Quartzsite toward Phoenix, and turned of on Highway 60 toward Wickenburg.

On the way to Salome we went through the small town of Hope. On the way out we noticed a sign that reads: You Are Now Beyond Hope. Pretty funny, and we will try to get a picture of it.

We got to this RV Park at about 1:30. They seem to have nice big sites, but there is no vegetation around any of the Park, with the exception of some trees by the office and clubhouse. There is a sign saying this park is new to KOA, but I don't know who had it before. We are here with our Coast to Coast membership.

They don't have cable, but we are able to get 16 channels of TV. A few are Spanish, but the rest seem pretty good.

We are here just to hang out until we go to Lake Havasu for Winter Blast. We had to be out of Colorado River Adventures parks for 7 days. Cindy didn't want to go to the steps and boondock, so here we are.

When we pulled in we found out we are parked next to a couple from West Jordan, Utah and another
from South Jordan, which are the two towns north of Riverton. Small World. They are both here for the winter, and asked me where my ATV was. I told them we don't have one. If we don't want to travel very far, there isn't much to do around here.

They do have a beading class tomorrow that Cindy wants to go to, to see how it is done. They also have informal beading everyday. She thinks she will be able to learn something about how it is done.

Sorry, no pictures today, but thanks for visiting.

  1. Definitely not much out that way so you can spend a few quiet days relaxing before the big party in Lake Havasu.

  2. We stayed at a park there once that had a little nine hole (very small) golf. It was free. It's been a long time ago and I forgot the name of it.
