Made it to Mesa

Made it to Mesa
Mesa, Arizona High 79 Low 50
Monday afternoon the park in Lake Havasu had a pot luck dinner. They furnished the hot dogs, and got a large turn-out.

Yesterday we got away from Lake Havasu City fairly early. We had decided that since we were only going to be there one night, that we would go to dry camping.
As soon as we got parked and set up, we drove back to the Congress Mercantile. We had one of their pizzas last year and had decided we wanted to do it again. After we went back to the trailer and had the pizza, we went and checked in and found out there was beading going on.

Cindy wanted to try her hand at beading and the ladies were more than willing to show her how and help her any way they could. She made a necklace, and I think it turned out pretty well for a first try. It was a lot different than the other park that wouldn't even let her watch unless she bought the kit. All the ladies were friendly and helpful, especially a lady named Rosie from the UK.

Not too bad for a first try.
After beading was over, we walked down the hill to Mike and Pat McFall's to say hi. We visited them for a little while and found out they were going to have line dancing this morning, so Cindy decided to try it.

On the way home we walked through the Cactus Garden, and got some pictures of the rabbits that eat some of the cactus. There were also a lot of quail in the park. One of the Saguaro Cactus had a sign by it that said it was growing from about 1600. Over 500 years old, no wonder they call it
Methuselah.

While she did her exercising, I hooked up the trailer and got ready to leave. I can’t say enough good about the level up system. It sure makes it easy to park and hook back up.

We finally got on the road and left North Ranch and headed to Val Vista Village in Mesa. Other than all the traffic, it was an uneventful trip here. They assigned us to a lot that there was no way I could get into. It had a narrow lot with a tree on one side and a light pole on the other. In addition the road was very narrow. In this park, they have a guide to escort you to your site. He agreed with me that I wasn’t going to be able to get in the space, so he called the office to get another site. The one they choose would have had our bedroom by the main road. Across the street there were 4 empty lots, and one of them looked easy to get into, but when he called the office, they insisted it was too short. I got my tape out and we measure it, and it was 44 feet long and our trailer is forty. So he and I drove back up to the office in his golf cart and talked to the office people in person. They finally agreed that I could try to get in the lot I wanted. We went and picked up the truck and I made it into the space with the 4 feet we measured to spare. Finally all was well. We will be here for a week.

Did I mention how much I like the level up system?

There seems to be a lot going on in this park, but I will talk about that later.

Thanks for visiting.
