Cooper Landing, Alaska Day 51, June 22, 2013

Yesterday I went fishing, and I only thought it was combat fishing. Today I wanted to get an early start, so went to get on the ferry at 6:00. This was when they started to go across the river. When I got there, there were only 3 parking spaces left in the parking lot. It took the ferry about 15 minutes to go over and back. I didn't get across the river until about 7:20. Like I said, I only thought it was bad yesterday.

This is the first fish.

Today I knew it was bad. Everywhere a person could possibly stand in the river, there was a person. I guess maybe it was because it was Saturday, and more people were able to get off. This may only be wishful thinking.
I tried fishing for about 3 hours and caught a nice salmon. I finally got tired after fishing for 3 hours and went home.

Here I'm cutting salmon steaks. They sure were good.

This is the one I caught this afternoon.
We filleted the salmon, and had some for dinner. The rest went in the freezer. After dinner I decided to go back and fish some more in hopes it wasn't quite as crowded, and it was a little better. The place I went fishing had done very well this morning when I watched the people fishing, so I found room there. There was something in the river snagging everyone’s line, but I managed to hook a little bigger fish than this morning. Again I fished for about 3 hours, and went back to the 5er.

Cindy spent most of her day sewing.

Sorry for the short post, but thanks for visiting.
