Leaving in the Morning

Riverton, Utah High 63 Low 39

Today was a lot nicer day than the past few. No wind and a high of 63. We got everything loaded into the 5er, the truck hooked on, and ready to go. We have been planning and saving for this trip to Alaska for about 6 years, and the time finally is here. We plan on going to Idaho Falls tomorrow. It will take us about 5 hours, and I think that is plenty for the first day. We would stay at Wal-Mart except for the freezer, so we will try to stay at the Elks which says they have electrical. It is only about 240 miles, but we feel we have lots of time, and I think it still will be a little cool in Alaska and points North.

This evening I went over to one of my friends, who has fished in Alaska several times, and got a few pointers on salmon fishing. Hopefully we can both catch some fish while we are there.

Next week we will be staying at a campground in Lethbridge for 5 days, while we go see some of the sights around that area. We will be better about pictures once we get going.

I guess that's about it today. Thanks for visiting.

  1. Have fun. The Fairgrounds in Blackfoot is a great place to stay also. And there's a wonderful county park in Shelley. I know it's too late to be telling you that now but for future reference.
