Long Drive

Warrensburg, New York High 81 Low 61

It's a lot warmer today and the humidity is up.

We had a drive today that took almost 5 hours. When I checked MapQuest last night it said about 3 hours so I was counting on maybe 4. When we left the other RV Park, we knew we had go past Fort Stanwix, so I programmed Mabel (my GPS) to get us that far. When I tried to program her for here, she didn't seem to be able to. After we got to the Fort she finally started working, but after a little while I decided we were going the wrong direction. She had us going almost to Albany and then North on I 87. Going this way was almost an hour south of where we needed to be. I finally stopped and a gentleman at a car dealership help me get where we needed to be.

After we finally got on the correct highway, I tried Mabel again and she worked for a while, but was trying to get us off the interstate one exit too soon.

We stopped at an information center at one of the rest stops, and asked where we were supposed to go, and he gave me directions to the road we thought we needed, but we didn't know there was a Schroon River Road, and an East Schroon River Road. I picked the wrong one which after I called the RV Park and got straightened out, had us drive on 10 miles of dirt road.

But we finally got here and it is a fairly nice park for a few days.

We don't know if we are going sight seeing or just hang out. I'll let you know.

I'm putting some pictures of what we saw on the way here, and also some of the RV Park.

We are at the Adventure Resorts of America at Schroon River.

Bad, but better than Alaska.

Thanks for visiting.
