North Fork Resort

Front Royal, Virginia High 75 Low 52

We are only about 65 air miles south of Gettysburg but it seems a lot warmer. We also noticed all the grass here is a lot dryer than in Pennsylvania. We had a nice easy ride here. The GPS said 2 hours and we took 2 1/2, but we weren't in any hurry. Penny even made it without any problems, so maybe she is getting used to traveling and we have taken away her food and water about an hour and a half before we leave.
Our site is backed into the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. This is a large Park, but even though there are a lot of RVs here, there don't seem to be many people.

We have this view from our rear window.
We are here to kind of relax, but will drive down the Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park.

One the way here we had to stop for one way road construction and had a little wait. Since we were first in line, the flagman came over and talked to us. Cindy asked him what there was to see in the area, and he replied: Trees, animals and quiet.

When we got set up, Cindy took Penny outside, and there was an animal eating and Penny was afraid to go out. Cindy at first thought it was a Badger, but it wasn't. I'm not sure what kind of animal it is, but probably a marmot.

Right now we are just taking it easy.

Thanks for visiting.
