We Made It To Lake Louise

Hinton, Alberta          High 76 Low 54

Yesterday we drove from Lethbridge to Lake Louise. I didn’t have internet last night so this is yesterdays post.

The scenery was very flat at first and after Calgary it started to get mountainous. Cindy got a picture of the Happy Barn she has read about on the way to Calgary.
Looks like a smiling face.

Cindy liked the very large animal overpasses on the way to the Lake.

We decided to drive the trailer to the parking lot a Lake Louise. The road is so steep that I really shouldn’t have driven there and when we got there, the parking lot had a lot of vehicles parked. A few more and we wouldn’t have had room to turn around or park.
We went down to the Lake and enjoyed the scenery. Last time we were there, the Lake was still frozen over and it was a lot colder. The first time Cindy and I were at Lake Louise was 18 years ago as part of our honeymoon trip. How time flies when you're having fun!

We went into the Chateau and looked around at all the ornate light fixtures. We went to one of the shops and I mentioned that the Lake was frozen over when we were there 2 years ago and the cashier told us that the Lake had only been thawed for 2 weeks. There were a lot of buses and tourists visiting the Lake.

After we got through sightseeing, we drove down to an over-flow parking lot that allowed overnight parking for $10.80. It was nice and quiet as we were quite a long ways from the trucks that stayed overnight.

We got a fairly early start for Hinton, but I will put pictures of that drive on tomorrows post.
Penny was freezing this morning.

Thanks for visiting.
