Abita Springs, Louisiana High 66 Low 46
We left Mississippi fairly early this morning after a cool
night. We drove for about 2 hours with a stop at the Louisiana Welcome Center.
We got to the RV Park at about noon. This is the earliest we have ever been to a
RV Park. The information on the Park said check in was 4 PM, so I thought I
better call, and was told to come in anytime.
We are at the Abita Springs RV Resort. It seems to be a nicer
Park than some we have stayed at in the last while. We will be here three
nights. This Park has a nice big Club House with quite a few activities going
on each day.
Since we got here so early, we decided to go see a couple of
quilt stores that are nearby. The first had some quilts designed by a local
quilt designer. As it turned out, she was at the store and we got to meet her.
Her name is Cherry Guidry. I haven’t looked up her website but we the name of
her book Celebrate the Seasons. They seemed to have the same basic design, but
were a little different for whatever the season.
Cindy found some fall fabric to buy, and as we were leaving,
there was a case with hand embroidery floss that was free. The cashier said that it was always nice to get free stuff. I joked with her that it really wasn't free as we had spent $100 with them. She told us to help
ourselves. Cindy got a good assortment of colors. This store was having a
birthday sale and is a very large store.
In the first store there were different reasons to buy
material posted. We didn't find them all, but the ones we did find were funny.
| Remember, this is Louisiana! |
| This would work in Utah. |
The second store was more of a sewing machine store, but outside they had some selves with free buttons and free 8 inch zippers. Again we got a good assortment of colors of buttons and zippers. It was nice to find some free notions at 2 different stores.
Thanks for visiting.
It's true you know!! The reason I had such a hard time going through Kansas tornado alley was because I didn't have enough weight in my rig. Another 14 quilt kits would have helped considerably!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a store that knows how to market.
