Downtown Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin High 86 Low 70

Summer has arrived.

This morning Cindy was in our bedroom and heard a pitter-patter on the roof. When we looked out, there was a squirrel running around on the slide topper and an the slide. It acted like it didn't know how to get off the trailer and back into the tree that it jumped out of. But it finally got brave enough and jumped to the tree and went about it's way, but it entertained us for a little while.

Today we went back downtown to take some pictures of the different attractions. The town of Wisconsin Dells is the self proclaimed capitol of the water parks, and there are many. One called Mount Olympus is supposed to be the largest.

We saw a replica of the Roman Colosseum. There is also a large Trojan Horse. And don't forget the
 Parthenon.

A little further on there is what is supposed to be an upside down White House. We didn't go in, so I have no idea what it is supposed to be.

There are lots of roller coasters, some of which are very high. I can't do roller coasters and Cindy said she wouldn't want to do the high ones. The one at Mount Olympus  pictured above is not the tallest we saw, but we couldn't find it to take a picture. It looked like it went almost straight up and then back down at the same steep angle.

There are a lot of water parks, and the one in the following picture seemed to have the largest slide.

I still have a lot of pictures of the House on the Rock that I want to post, but will do so on a day when we don't do too much else going on. I don't want to get my readers bored with one subject, although we still have a lot of good pictures. To answer Jan's question about Alex Jordan, he sold the house to one of his friends in 1988, and they were in the process of having the aviation collection open when he died in November of 1989 at the age of 75. The collection opened in 1990.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. We did take one of the duck tours when we were there but neither Bill nor I can understand why anyone would pay to take a ride on a roller coaster to be scared.
