Quiet Day

Front Royal, Virginia High 72 Low 57

It rained all night last night. It has been cloudy all day but it didn't rain.

We came to this part of Virginia mostly to try to see some of the fall colors without taking the chance of cold weather or ice that we might have seen in Maine. We also wanted to take a drive on the Skyline Drive and we did get to accomplish that.

We did see some of the fall colors, but not whole forests ablaze. The trees that have changed color are pretty spectacular and there are signs of more trees changing color all the time. When we got here there wasn't any of the color, and the people in the Visitor Center told us that we are about 2 weeks early.

Tomorrow we leave here for Gordonsville for a few days, and then we will go a little further south.

We are going to have to get Penny a sweater of some sort because whenever I take her outside, she shivers the whole time. I can tell she is used to having hair.

We didn't do a whole lot today, just took it easy and got some laundry washed. We had some of the salmon from Alaska for dinner tonight with some local green beans and squash. It was very good.

I’m afraid I didn't get any pictures today.

Thanks for visiting.
