Albuquerque, New Mexico High 73 Low 48
Yesterday at our Happy Hour, I got to meet Merikay and Craig
MacKenna. They are fellow bloggers. You can see them at Merikay’s Dream. It is
fun to meet fellow bloggers.
Last evening we went to the balloon launch field to see a
wedding. The Escapees have a group called the Solos. As the name implies, each
person is single in their RVs. It seems that they met at a Balloon Fiesta in
Albuquerque in 2012 and were park next to each other. After a few years, he
popped the question and they felt it would be appropriate to get married here
with the balloon pilot, who is licensed to perform Weddings. It was a nice
wedding.
Afterward we were supposed to be able to see the different
shape balloons inflate, but it got so windy that we only saw one get upright
and one partially inflated before the event was cancelled.
This is as far inflated this balloon got before they cancelled the event because of wind. |
This morning we went to help with our balloon and got to see
several shapes that we hadn’t seen before.
The man in the blue jacket looks enthused (NOT). |
Notice the zebra tail on this zebra. |
I went with the chase crew and our balloon came down with no
problems. We walked the balloon from a field to someone’s driveway that had
given Keith permission to use to let the balloon down.
The traffic coming back to the RV Park was the worst it has
been since we have been her, but we were still finished by 9:30. There seem to be more and more people to see the balloons.
Cindy got this one coming over the Fifth Wheel trailers by us. |
We only have 2 more days (3 nights) here and then it will be
time to move on.
Thanks for visiting.
Enjoying your pictures. The Balloon Festival is on our bucket list. We met Craig and Merikay in San Diego in 2010. We're hoping our paths will cross again this winter in Yuma.
