We got some rain overnight yesterday and in the morning. Then the sun came out and it was nice until about 3 o'clock. Then the wind came up and it got cool.
Last week we had our second annual Redneck Olympics here in our Park.
There were only 6 teams this year compared to 8 last year. The opening ceremonies started at 11:00 in the morning with the object of the day ending sooner. We were through by 4:00 instead of 7:00 last year.
Our team.
The different events were: shave the beaver, a balloon covered with shaving cream which was shave off.
The second event was frozen turkey bowling.
Our event was seed spitting (we used grapes because of the lack of cherry pits).
Next was Redneck Golf using tennis balls for clubs and golf balls.
The next event was hub cap tossing using hubcaps like frizzby's trying to get close to targets.
The last event before the sailboat race was called turd tossing which was a variation of cornhole
tossing.
The boat race this year was sail boats using water bottles and doggie bags for sails. We thought the method for propulsion might be wave fans or blow up balloons but the propusion consisted of trash bags filled with air with a hose connected to the bag and then the air was let out to blow on the sail.
The hard part was that the "Captain" was blindfolded with one of the other people in the water directing him with a toy horn. Each team had three people, the captain, the horn blower and, someone to catch air in their bag. Most of the boats were disqualified for cheating, touching or pushing the boat, making wave to propel the boat, or in our case the captain blowing on the sail.
The only boat that finished without get disqualified cheated by the bag person guiding the captain on where to hold the hose to blow on their sail but they didn't get seen by the judges. It was all in fun anyway.
We won the seed spitting and turkey toss but it wasn't enough to win the "coveted" beer can trophy.
This is an example of retired people having too much fun here in our Park.
Thanks for visiting.
You guys are too funny!! Looks like you had a GREAT time!
