                                                         Beautiful Sunrise Saturday morning

Saturday we were in Boot Camp all day. I think I learned a lot about the different systems on the fifth wheel. The part about weight and load management was especially interesting. They stated that about 57% of RV exceeds weight limits for the tires. I still plan on getting weighed and find out where our truck and trailer are as far as weight. We did get the truck weighed today and will weigh the trailer when Cindy is through with her driving lesson on Wednesday morning.

Saturday afternoon, we had a talk on fire safety. (By the way I got the fridge extinguisher installed.)
He talked about the different types of smoke alarms and CO detectors. After his lecture, he took everyone outside and showed the difference in fire extinguishers. The different types really made a lot of difference in how well they worked and some wouldn't let the fire restart, while some, you got the fire out and it would restart. At the conclusion of his demonstration, he sprayed himself with a foam spray to show that the one he recommended was not harmful to people or pets. This also showed that if you couldn't get out, you could spray yourself and make a run for it. At least you would have a better chance. Cindy has one of them by our bed! There is also one in  the kitchen and and one in the truck.

Sunday morning they fed us breakfast. They then had a talk on tire safety. It also, was quite informative. After that they had all the instructors sit in front and field questions from the attendees. Again it was a good learning experience. And then last, but not least, we were given our Boot Camp graduation badges or pins.

When that was over, we drove up to meet Al and Kelly (and don’t forget Pheebs). They have a nice home and we had a nice visit. This afternoon there is a Super bowl Party at the Activity Center.

Today, thanks to Mike MCFall, I got some comments on our blog. Thanks everyone.

  1. Isn't that Mac just fabulous. We ended up buying five extinguishers from him and we're hoping never to have to use them. Where are you headed next?

  2. Nice to meet you folks yesterday. That Boot Camp sounded like a great idea for folks. Always so many questions need to be answered when folks slide into an entirely different lifestyle. Sounds like you two are well on your way to doing things right. Keep up the good work & many happy trails to you....:))

  3. It was so nice to meet you in Boomerville - you came to look at my small quilt collection. We left early as I had a teaching session set up. Glad to hear you are having fun at North Ranch. I was sorry we did not have longer to visit.

  4. Nice that you got to meet Al, Kelly and Pheebs and see their new house. The Boot camp and seminars are great for everyone to attend. And individual wheel weights are a must for safe RVing
