Yuma, Arizona High 84 Low 54
The weather here has been very nice. The low here is about equal to the high back in Utah. It did get windy for a couple of days and blew more leaves to clean up, but what else is new?
We are getting an area by our house paved. It has been in shrubs and a grape fruit tree, which we enjoyed, but the tree died over the summer along with several of the shrubs. It is the reason we decided to put in pavers. We have black flexible irrigation tubing feeding the plants which seems to break constantly, so we decided to replace it with pvc pipe, that should be good a lot longer. My neighbors are helping me and we dug up some of the black pipe and replaced it to the point the paver company can connect on. We did ask him how much it would save to have us take out the remaining plants and install the pvc ourselves, but he wouldn't give us enough off and we didn't think the amount he offered us was near enough, so he gets to remove the shrubs and install the new pipe.
I have been taking Penny to what we call Yappy Hour at the small dog park most afternoons. I get picked up at about 3:50 and Penny is ready to go at 3:30. I don't know how she can tell time, but she seems to. We had the most small dogs this season yesterday. There were 15 small dogs running around, chasing balls and each other. I have been asked why we call it Yappy Hour. If a large dog happens by, there will be 10 small dogs, including Penny, barking at it. They are protecting their territory. I'm convinced the small dogs don't know they are so small.
There is one of the dog owners that likes to take pictures of the small dogs, and he got some excellent pictures of the dogs that he puts on Facebook. The first picture is of a dog named Dolly that will chase a ball until she drops. Sometimes she catches it on the first bounce.
Penny won't run after toys if another dog even looks like they want it, but sometimes she manages to get it and she won't give it up.
Oh come on .... they don't squeak for long ... the squeaker breaks!! Such a sweet little girl. Great pictures!! Aww sorry the tree died, but really, those drip lines can be a pain. I'm taking a lot of them out because the Gardener keeps cutting them off.
