Quilt Show Pictures

Still is at normal temperatures for Salt Lake for the time of year. The weather guessers are predicting afternoon thunder showers for the next week. We have had them for the last 3 afternoons.

I finally had time to start getting Cindy's damaged flower room ready for sheet rock. I checked as well as I could for leaks, and it seemed to not leak. I did a lot of sealing.

Cindy took so many pictures, that I am only putting on half of them this time. The rest next time.

Front Porch

It was a little cooler today and is back to more normal temperatures for this time of year. Today we are getting thunder showers with lots of lightning. All the water isn't going to help Utah's flood situation.

I do have some before and after pictures of our front porch.

This is how bad it looked before refinishing.

And the following are the finished porch. It looks a lot better.

I took a couple of pictures of patterns on some quilts at the quilt show:

I found where to buy the first one, but have been unable to find the second one.

We both didn't care too much for the quilt show. It turned into more of a vendor show rather than a quilt show. While there were some nice quilts ,there weren't near as many quilts as in the past. We both thought that the three quilt shows in Yuma are way better quilt shows.

Cindy got a lot of quilt pictures, but I will wait until next time.

One More Shop Hop

It is almost 10 degrees warmer than is normal for May. I read that temperatures are approaching new records for this time of year.

Our air quality is very bad because of the wild fires in Alberta.

We went to another shop hop and got more pictures. We also went to the quilt show, but I will wait until next time to talk about it.

We got more quilt pictures and I hope you don't get tired of looking at them.

Some of the quilts are interesting.

We had our front porch resurfaced and it looks lots better. I will get pictures of it later. 

Our swimming pool cover hasn't been working. We had to get a new motor and controls, which we have waited a month for the cover company to get time to do the repairs. We couldn't open the pool.

We have had lots of repairs going on since we have been home. I jokingly tell Cindy that I don't understand all these repairs, after-all our home is only 22 years old. Why don't these things last longer? 

She has her garden mostly finished. We found some tomato plants at a yard sale today for $1.00 each, which is a lot less than the nursery's so she bought 3 more and got them planted.

We have so many apricots, that we have been thinning them almost every day. We will still have a lot of apricots.

Shop Hop

It has been a rather cool day again, Right now we are hearing thunder and thunder showers are predicted.

We bought several tomato plants and got about half of them planted.

Last week some of the quilt shops in our area held what is called a shop hop. Each shop gives a quilt pattern. There used to be many more shops in the shop hot, but some seem to have lost interest, or have gone out of business. One of them had all the employees dressed up as Doctors. They gave out medicine bottles filled with M&Ms. We thought the instructions were cute. 

Another shop had Star Wars as it's theme.

Of course, lots of quilts to take pictures of.

I have been so busy doing repairs, that I only quilted one quilt. 

And in-between all of this, we finally got Penny a hair cut. She was getting quite shaggy, but it was so cold that we didn't want her to get too cold, so we held off.

She sure looks better.

Next week-end is the big Salt Lake Quilt Show. We plan on going to it and hope to take lots of pictures.

Still Here

We seem to have come back to Utah too soon. It has been been cold at night and rainy for the last week. It tried to rain again today, just enough to get the car dirty.

Since we've been home, I finally replaced the glass inserts on three of our exterior doors. They measure about 2 feet by 5 feet and are double tempered glass. They each weigh quite a bit. They have plastic frames around them and the outside got cracked and ruined. I had to replace the glass and frame because no-one sells just the frame. And when you replace the insert, the whole door has to be painted. They have only been in for 20 years. Nothing seems to last forever.

Cindy has been busy getting ready to plant her garden, but she thinks it is still too cold to put in tomatoes.

Last October after our secondary water had been turned off, Fiber optic cable piping was installed in the whole neighborhood with an outlet at the front of each lot. The only problem was when they brought the pipe onto our grass, they must have hit and cracked one of PVC pipes, and when I turned the sprinkler on for the first time, it was leaking enough to water to the middle of the street. From reading one of the neighbors Facebook, I knew it would be almost impossible to get the contractor back to fix the pipe, so I fixed it myself. That day I must have been Home Depots best customer, because with paint, caulking, some of Cindy's plants, potting soil, and then the fittings to repair the broken pipe, I had used my credit card 7 times at Home Depot with no where else in between.

We also went to a yard sale that had new shoes for $1.00 each, that's per shoe, not per pair. Cindy found about 4 shoes she liked, but wasn't able to find any to match that were the same size. For instance she found a really nice right shoe in her size, but the only match she could find was either 3 sizes too small or another right. We ended up not buying any shoes.

Quite a pile of shoes. Too bad there weren't any pairs that matched. I told her she could get a right and a left of another design, but she refused. LOL

I did finish one baby quilt.
