Lincoln At The Rest Stop

 Cheyenne, Wyoming             High48 Low 38

Why are we in Cheyenne? We have wanted to go to South Dakota to see a new (to us) sight, which was  built since we were through South Dakota last time we drove through. I'll talk about it after we have got pictures. It seems a little cool here compared to Riverton, Utah. The weather guessers for here are predicting high 20's later in the week.

At a rest stop almost to Cheyenne, there is a Lincoln Memorial, which I thought was quite neat.

When we left this morning, I told Cindy that we probably see some snow (the awful 4 letter word) on this trip, and sure enough, there was some at the Lincoln Memorial. There was a sign that said this was the highest point on I80 in Wyoming and it was colder than here in Cheyenne.

The next two pictures are along I80 after the rest stop and are the only pretty part of Wyoming we have seen so far in Wyoming. When we were on our way to Wyoming, I told Cindy that the only thing along I80 for many miles, was lots of miles. There is not much to see besides wind mills and sage brush in this part of the state.

I'll have more pictures on my next post.

Thanks for visiting.

It's That Time Of Year

Riverton, Utah       High 58 Low 43

Fall finally arrived. Yesterday Salt Lake City had the second most rain in one day, 2.4 inches.

It is supposed to be cool for the next while.

While we were out, we saw some Halloween decorations which were quite elaborate.

Some people go to great lengths decorating for Halloween.

In the meantime, I got a new laptop, which is taking some getting used to, getting it to do what I'm used to. It seems to have a mind of it's own. I hope I can get used to it.

Thanks for visiting.

Busy, Busy

Riverton, Utah        High 82  Low 82

According to the weather guessers, we were warmer here than in Yuma today. They have had flooding and we haven't had enough rain to talk about.

Cindy has been very busy with her garden. I didn't get any pictures of the tomatoes, but she got a nice crop. And here are some pictures of her honeydew and squash'

This week I had a High School Class reunion. This is going to tell how old I am, but it was our 65th Year class reunion. They gave out a prize for the oldest member in attendance, and it was his birthday the day of the reunion and he was 84 years old. Wow!! Where has the time gone? We only had about 35 in attendance and some of them weren't in very good shape. I found out my best friends in High School are both in assisted living centers and only one of them made it to the reunion. A lot of them don't live in Utah, so they didn't travel to Salt Lake.

I think they said 140 of 540 have passed on.

The same evening we went to a church Laulau. We dressed in Hawaiian dress. The food was very good. Unfortunately, we were so tired, we didn't stay for the entertainment.

And of course I have quilted some more quilts.

Thanks for visiting.

Quilts and Penny

Riverton, Utah         High 75 Low 56

More fall like weather.

I finished two more quilts. One was embroidered bears and the other was a Kokopelli Panel quilt.

The Kokopelli quilt took quite a while to do because of all the different patterns.

The bears was faster because it was overall with the bears blocked out.

Penny was getting so shaggy that we had to get her a hair cut. She looks a lot cuter now than before.

Penny sure is afraid of noises. Last night we had a lot of lightning and thunder. She shook the whole time in spit of being held.

The first of last week Cindy got, what she thinks, was a bad cold. Of course I got it a few days later. We are mostly over it, but some of the coughing is still hanging on.
