It finally got warmer here in Yuma.
Monday we went to a craft show at our Church here in Yuma. There are a lot of talented people. Cindy was intrigued by some plastic hammers made from plastic grocery bags. He told us he put them in a can in a small oven at about 350 degrees and kept adding them until he had the can full. he did the same thing with the handle, but in some kind of mold. He then drilled the hammer head and heated the head and handle and put them together, They seemed to make a very strong hammer.
We took about 6 of Cindy quilts, and had lots of favorable comments.
Another one that impressed us was using tiny beads to created pictures. It looked like it took a lot of time, as the small beads were very tiny.
There was rock polishing, wood work, making vases with gourds and card making to name a few.
We took Nancy with us to the Craft Show and she seemed to like seeing all the Crafts. She was going to leave the next day, if possible, but the wind was too great to drive with her fifth wheel, so she left early Wednesday morning. It was nice having her stay with us for a few days and hope to see here again.
Penny even liked sitting on Nancy's lap, which is unusually for her.
I finished my Y seem quilt top, and it had so many Y seems that I don't know if I would try it another time. The five mitered borders even had a Y seam at each corner.
I still like the finished quilt although I'm not sure how I will quilt it. I'll probably do something fancy.
We also went to our neighbors 60th wedding anniversary party, a long with 70 of there friends from here in Yuma. Their three daughters also came in from Canada. It was a nice party, for a nice couple. He is the one that completely remodeled their house across from ours, here in the Park.
Thanks for visiting.
